Apparently new restaurant going into Cast Iron Steakhouse spot on River Road.. Just saw the sign go up today as I sped past there. They are looking to hire servers so must be getting close to opening. Anybody heard anything?

First I've heard, but the name in that location is a distinct blast from the past!

Business First had a story back in December that included this from the building's owner:

"We are excited to share the news that in 2018 we plan to open a new high-quality, neighborhood restaurant called The Pine Room at 6325 River Road in Harrods Creek. I am working in partnership with restaurateur Steven Ton on the menu, chef selection and overall concept and we look forward to sharing more details soon."

The restaurant has a Facebook page, but it has very little information.

Total blast from the past. The original Pine Room was my grandfather's.

Wow! That's amazing, Margie! How does it feel to see the name coming back? :)

Just drove by there yesterday. Doesn’t look opened yet but very close.

not really breaking any new ground with this menu, and not really mining the nostalgia either . . .

No, it would work just as well in St. Matthew's. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Coby Ming is the chef - that's enough to peak my interest more than the menu might on it's own.

I went last night and it was really nice. The decor is clean and bright with some wonderful details. The pricing is very fair with cocktails running $8-10 and call drinks running around $6.50. We split a wonderful seared sailfish with tomato lemongrass sauce over a succotash. $24. We also split an order of fried artichoke hearts that were very tasty. With the above and two drinks $54
Can't wait to go back.
