Where to buy Shishito Peppers?

by Ray Griffith » Sat Sep 24, 2016 7:02 pm

I checked the Bardstown Rd and Douglass Loop farmer's markets today and also called Paul's, all to no avail. Does anyone know where I can get them this weekend?

I would have thought Paul's, but absent that, Whole Foods or possibly Trader Joe's? I know, I'm the "BUY LOCAL" guy, but sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. Another, more local possibility: Iroquois Valu Market?

It's been a bit, but did you have any success? I really want to try these...

I'm curious too. There just about has to be a local source, since they turn up in menus a lot. And they are delicious.

Excellent, Gary. What department? Fresh peppers? Dried? Canned?

Fresh- but they weren't there today. I guess it's hit or miss.

I was actually thinking about Padron peppers... which are apparently mostly the same, but with a chance that some of the padron are spicy...

I might just have to grow my own.

I bought some at Choi's a few weeks ago.
