Valentine's Day/Mardi Gras dinners and events here!

by Robin Garr » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:03 am

If you're a restaurateur, chef, employee or just a fan, please feel free to post items here informing us of Valentine's Day dinners and events! Mardi Gras, too, since the two holidays fall on successive days this year.

You don't need to ask special permission to post, but as always, we ask that you keep it simple, change the subject line to name the restaurant, and remove any PR hype so we won't have to. Just the facts, please! :)

Re: Valentine's Day at Lupo

by Robin Garr » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:07 am

Lupo is offering reservations for the Valentine's Day dinner, which they ordinarily do not. Folks can make reservations by phone at 409-8440, or by email at lupolouisville@gmail.com. It's a prix fixe, 5 courses with optional wine pairings, for $45/$65. The restaurant will be transformed for one evening into an Old World Italian Ristorante - we'll be jamming Louis Prima all night - think red and white checkered table cloths, candles, spaghetti and meatballs, Lady and the Tramp style. Max is pulling out all the stops on a menu packed with Italian American classics, and our bar manager Eric has chosen some excellent wine pairings from our bottle list - so this will be a chance to taste some of the wines we ordinarily only offer by the bottle. Vegetarian alternatives to all courses are available for those who specify preference in advance.

Below, you'll find the Valentine's menu!

__________
Aperitivo
cerignola, castelvetrano, moroccan olives
__________
Antipasto
Halibut Crudo
satsuma, hazelnut, radish
wine - Zamo Bianco
__________
Primo
Spaghetti e Polpetta
house egg pasta, veal & pork meatballs, tomato
wine - Becco Rosso Lambrusco
_________
Secondo
Cotoletta
bone-in veal chop, risotto, luxardo demi-glace
wine - Piemonte Barbera
________
Insalata
Caesar
romaine, anchovy, parmigiano reggiano
wine - Sartarelli Spumante
_______
Formaggi
Gorgonzola and bosc pear
________
Dolce
Negroni Milkshake
‘gilberto gelato’ Campari gelato, orange chantilly, Luxardo cherry

Valentine's Day at Mirin

by GriffinPaulin » Fri Jan 19, 2018 10:18 pm

Mirin will be rocking with our regular menu, but playing horribly depressing music and offering 15% off if you come in alone.

We love you, even if he/she broke your stupid heart ❤️

I didn't take a look at the details, but Milantoni Italian is having a special musical Valentine's Day evening. I went there for the first time last night....delicious! I had the beef and spinach ravioli. The breadsticks and marinara were also quite addictive.
