Ideas for Prom dinner downtown

by Alanna H » Sun May 14, 2017 12:47 am

I know we're cutting it close with just a week to go, but next Saturday my son is attending his GF's senior prom, which is being held at the Muhammad Ali Center. We'll probably do pictures at the waterfront or Belvedere. Can you give me some ideas of where they could go for dinner:

1. That accepts reservations, so they can be out in time to get to the dance.
2. Won't break they bank- these are high school kids with no appreciation for great food, lol- and I'm the single mom who has to pay for it.
3. Is in the general vicinity- I know there are several places down in NuLu, but they won't have a car so it'd be nice to find something within walking distance of the Ali Center.

I know Mussel & Burger Bar is right over there, but they don't take reservations.

May want to recheck MBB. I know at least some OLE spots are taking reservations now. Otherwise Bristol is close by and would fit the bill.

We saw prom kids outside Bistro 301 last night. They're at 3rd & Market and take reservations. Bristol's also a good suggestion.

Check the Spaghetti Factory . . . cheap, and high school kids love it . . . I think they take reservations, but check that out (places mentioned have better food, but maybe not for your audience).

Another option is that there is a Los Aztecas on Main diagonally across from Ali Center.

Spaghetti Factory was my first thought. As a high school teacher I can assure you that kids love it. I also like Sway at the Hyatt. It's a pretty space and the food is good. There's a Bristol downtown and I can't tell you how many times I ate green chili wontons and a salad with Harry's dressing before a dance.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone! Looks like the Bristol was their pick. I appreciate the help :-)

A good choice would be Bistro 301 or Doc Crow's. They both have reasonable prices and decent food, and I think they have reservations available.

Actually, Losta Pasta is a pretty good idea. iI's a decent place with decent food guaranteed to be at least enjoyable. It's also a good option to try Potbelly Sandwich. Good stuff, quick and mobile.
Other than that, I can't thnink of anything that won't require a ful dinner and a lot of money.
