River House is starting to look a lot like Captain's Quarters.

According to a news release, a new, lower-level terrace is now open at River House Restaurant and Raw Bar and Levee at the River House, at 3015 River Road just east of Kingfish. The expansion more than doubled the restaurants' patio space to 8,000 square feet, increasing its outdoor capacity to 300. The $120,000 renovation, which took three months to complete, also includes an outdoor full-service bar at River House.

Beginning in June, River House and Levee will both offer dockside service, allowing boaters to be served without having to leave the dock. New Adirondack chairs and lawn games have also been added to the bank of the river.

Next year, Chef John Varanese, owner of the restaurants, plans to extend the parking lot and add an 11,000 square-foot space on the second floor of River House for private events and weddings.

Can't believe their own PR company put in a bad link! Thanks, Marybeth. I'll replace http://RiverhouseRestaurant.com with your better link.
