Baseball Card Boxes

by RonnieD » Wed May 10, 2017 1:29 pm

Does anyone know if there are any sports collectible stores in the area that might sell those long rectangular boxes to store baseball cards. I've got shoeboxes full of baseball cards from the 80's and I want to organize them a little better for long term storage, but every place I know of that used to carry such a thing has since shuttered.

Thanks in advance.

There is also a Comic Book/Pokemon Card (?) type place in the Stoneybrook shopping center that I think would have these. If that location is better for you, let me know and I will get the name of the place as I am in the area daily.

As a side note, if you have any valuable cards it is worth investing in a plastic type sleeves to store them individually. I was fortunate enough to find my dad's baseball card collection from the 1950's and 1960's back in the late 80's when I was in middle school. We preserved the collection and sold it off to pay for 100% of my college.

If you happen upon the name of that place, please pass it along. I'm going to check out any leads next week and Stonybrook is convenient.

Fortunately I was savvy to the whole collecting thing back in the 80's and got most of my good stuff into sleeves and pages before they got too distressed from general childhood use. My great lament are all of the 1970's cards I dumped into a sink hole when I was a child and decided I didn't want my baseball cards anymore. Some great comic books went into that hole as well... :(

I'll be over that way Friday! Thank you! I think I've heard of that place, or maybe even seen it, but that Old Chicago shopping center is kind of a black hole for me.

The place in Stonybrook was perfect. Convenient and the boxes are only $1 each! Hooray!
