Sweet Surrender seeking Full time Baker

by Jessica H » Wed Dec 02, 2015 11:13 am

Sweet Surrender Dessert Cafe is seeking a new cake baker to meet our high demand for custom cakes! We are a high volume bakery, looking for someone positive, fast-paced, and efficient to help with our weekly baking and day to day happenings.

We bake entirely from scratch, so we would love someone who has baked from scratch previously. Experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred! While this position is primarily baking, you should also be able to assemble and flat ice basic cakes using buttercream.

This position is for 30-40 hours a week. We are looking for a baker who can work a noon to 8:00pm shift.

Also required for this position:
-Strong work ethic
-Positive attitude
-Ability to learn quickly
-Careful attention to detail
-Strong organizational skills
-Knowledge of standard baking conversions
-Time management & multi-tasking skills
-Ability to execute recipes consistently and efficiently
-Willingness to receive direction and constructive criticism

Sweet Surrender is open Tuesday through Saturday with the occasional Sunday required for special events and weddings.

We assume from your application that you have the ability to withstand the physical rigors (such as lifting, standing for long periods) that are part of any bakery job.

Please email a copy of your resume and a few sentences about yourself as a word file, .pdf, or pasted into the body of an email to asweetsurrender@gmail.com. If you do have decorating experience, we encourage you to attach photos of your work to the email or if you have an online portfolio, please provide a link. You can also apply in person at 1804 Frankfort Avenue.
