Verizon FioS? I read about it recently and checked the Website: "Not available in your area." (40206)

Robin, call TWC and tell 'em you want to cancel your service, and see what deals they'll offer you.

We were paying $45 a month for 10MB service with Insight; after the TWC merger that went up to $50 and 15MB. I got a letter in the mail from TWC saying my "promotion" (my current rate) was expiring and that the regular rate was going up to $60 a month, but they'd offer me another "promotion" to knock it down to $55 a month.

I called, told them I was going to switch to AT&T U-Verse, and by the time the call was done they'd upgraded me to 20MB and dropped the price to $35 a month.

I've had insight, direct-tv and Uverse, and Uverse is by far the best.

As far as cable TV, the uverse box has the best and fastest interface and the picture is pretty damn good, maybe not quite up to direct tv but still good. If you sign up for Uverse new you can get a GREAT deal but even when that is up you are not on contract so you can still bargain for a better rate. I just got them to drop $35 off my bill a couple months ago when my original deal ended. And their customer service is leaps and bounds above the other options.

Internet is adequate for us, we do a moderate amount of streaming and gaming with no problem. If you live in a new neighborhood like Norton Commons i think they are doing fiber directly to the houses and supposedly it is blazing fast.

It may sound like i work for att or something but I assure you I have no affiliation with them, I just hate the big cable companies so much I'm happy to shill for Uverse.

I did a package with Verizon for my cell phone and on line service for my lap top using a plug. Everything about it was horrible. Caps on usage, bad , surly customer service. Just combining my cell phone bill AND my on line bill was a major issue that took 3 months to straighten out. (All I wanted was one bill with everything included in it instead of 2 different bills.) getting service either on line or on the phone was next to impossible. Problems were only resolved by going into the Verizon Store THEN getting overcharges taken off my bill took forever. Use Verizon for anything? Never Never Never again.

After many scheduling attempts, we finally got U-Verse installed last week. Apparently there are so many people making the switch, they don't have enough techs to keep up with demand. AT&T doesn't hire out to sub contractors, so the install was much smoother than the last idiot that TWC sent out. So far, I'm very pleased with the picture quality and the internet speed is much closer to what I'm paying for than TWC ever was. The iPad app is definately more user friendly and the equipment is much better than the reconditioned junk we had to deal with after TWC took over. Whenever I used the DVR on the most recent box fromTWC, it had a slight jerkyness to the picture even after getting 2 other boxes.
I dropped off the TWC equipment at Hubbard's Ln last week, and there were several people in line behind me turning in their stuff too.
Personally, I can't complain about AT&T at all considering I basically have the same service we had with TWC with more bells and whistles for $120 cheaper per month. :D
