Furniture refinishing?

by Deb Hall » Sat Nov 23, 2013 6:20 pm

I have a high- quality Bernhardt dinng room table and chairs that need stripping, refinishing and then the bottoms to be reupholstered. ( while the finish is in great shape, it's is the unfortunate white washed look that was in vogue 20 years ago. Chairs bottoms desperately need new foam and covers).
I'm finding lots of options for upholstery, but so far only Excel on Melwood for refinishing/ stripping.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Deb

Deb, my mother had good luck on a project like this many years ago with a custom cabinet shop. The one she used is long out of business now, but that might be an avenue to explore.

She also had a good experience with Excel Furniture Restoration on Mellwood.

You might check with Linda Bayens, I beleive her son makes furniture. He may do refinishing or know someone who does.

Try giving Best of Kentucky on Swan St. a call 636-0531. I have not personally used them, but I known several that have. They do good work.
