I don't know, as I tend to be somewhat pedantic, but if a business misspells both "conscious" and "garbanzo" in its key news release can I expect them to be accurate in determining details of recipes for my health? Having a typo in a forum or blog is one thing, but in the introductory news release?

I'm going to have to be honest: I don't really expect spelling or grammar perfection from PR or from journalism any more. I don't like it, but I'm really more interested in the facts. :(

I had the same reaction before I even read Andrew's comment.

Note to PR, website and Facebook posters- Spelling and punctuation count when making an impression for your business. If you want to come across as caring about your food and your customers, texting rules do not apply. It matters- really.

Will these errors keep you from trying it?

What Will said, pretty much. 8)

Re-reading it, I think the restaurant owner did his own PR. Frankly, I respect that. I won't grade on spelling, and I certainly don't want to contribute to a climate of opinion that expects small local businesses to dig down to pay for "PR" services for work they can easily do on their own.

I did all my own PR and I know I made some stupid blunders. So I can give the guy a pass. Running a place is so demanding, sometimes spelling gets a second chair. Not saying we should not worry about it but the message got through.
I believe that Mr. Mikulak and Mr. Garr both caught a few of my whoppers in the past. Thanks to them both.

Good question, Will. Personally, I'd still try them.

Anybody know what the name is in reference to? In there some Butchertown/Louisville reference there that this non-native doesn't get?

"Press release"? This was a facebook posting. Their website is still under construction. Sure, these types of mistakes are embarrassing. In any case, their concept seems quite appealing.

Let's stop drawing attention to this since many people are not avid users of social media. Let them be judged by their product, service, and ambiance.

James,
You make a good point. I'm sick and likely " posting under the influence" ( of sinus medication). I've asked Robin to delete my posts.
Thanks,
Deb

I imagine it's some reference to Adams St.? This place is on the corner of Quincy and Adams Streets.

Deb, rather than trying to "edit and censor," how about we just agree to accept your gracious apology and move forward? Let's talk about this restaurant! I cross-posted from Facebook without even asking them (although I did "Like" their page). Does anyone know them? If we could get them in here (and tell them we're sorry we trash-talked their spelling  ) maybe we can get some conversation going.
