I guess I must have left you all with the wrong impression...my son is in no way shape or form better...I will not bother you all with updates or trouble you for requests for prayers...needing CPR for 15 minutes and surviving yes that is better than the alternative but he is still on the ventilator and looking at probably 2 months in ICU if and I mean if he lives that long...this is not the time for smilie faces

Our prayers are still there with him as well as you as you endure this difficult time.

I'm sure Dan's "smiley" was the result of misunderstanding the diagnosis...Man's got a great ol' big heart and would never intentionally offend. All the best to you and yours in this troubling time.

Well, it has been 3 months to the day since my last post in this topic and Hotbytes for that matter. I placed myself on exile, but now feel it is ok to come back. My son finally came home from the hospital yesterday. I am sorry if I offended anyone while I was so stressed out but all I can say is I really thought we were going to lose him and we came really close. His baby girl was 2months old when he went in and is 3 days shy of 6 months today. He still has a long way to go to be back to his old self he has a trach and colostomy and suffered weakness on his right side from the code. They lost their home and are living with her folks til they figure out if he will be able to return to work or not But he is alive, alert, sarcastic as ever and we love him so much. We appreciate all the prayers.

I can't imagine that, Bev! To whatever extent we can as a partly-virtual group of online friends, this is a community; and if you can't come here for help, then we're not much good at all.

Thanks for the update, and please keep them coming as he progresses. :)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I guess I did not understand the original diagnosis you posted a few months back. I sincerely wish nothing but the best for you and your family and glad to know that things are on the upswing!

Glad to be back. I will admit to lurking on occasion and I can tell you that Jewish Hospital cafeteria is better than Norton's even though Hubby works for Norton. Oh the Wall Street Deli on Abraham Flexner is a life saver if you want something other than cafeteria food and they are very reasonably priced Bless them. :)

I spent the whole summer working at Baptist Health Services Louisville (formerly Baptist Hospital East), and I was pretty impressed with their cafeteria. Bland seasonings, but they had plenty of salt, pepper and hot sauce available for you to administer on your own. The basic fare was fresh, mostly healthy, and surprisingly well made.

Bev,
You and your family have very much been in our thoughts and prayers over the past months. So glad your son is home and hope that he continues to do well! Please keep us posted on his progress. Give the baby an extra special hug and let us know if there is anything we can do!
