The former City Cafe space in Mid City Mall?

by Leah S » Wed Mar 20, 2013 10:41 am

This is part of a Facebook wall to wall post that also contained too much personal info.

" he is opening a wine bar and bistro next to Baxter Ave Theatres..."

Ya think this is the former City Cafe space?

Sure sounds like! Can you disclose (in public or private) who the "he" is?

I was just at MCM yesterday and I think the City Cafe space is now an urgent care or some such.

The owner of Southern Table in Shelbyville is opening this new spot, from what I have heard.

I had to walk next door for something else so I took a look, just walked back in the door. They've torn out the City Cafe counter and a couple of people were working inside on renovation. I saw a sign propped up against the wall, presumably to hang out front later on. As best I could make out it says 54 Wine Bar & Bistro Coming Soon.

That's the other side. The doctors' office is where the Rite-Aid used to be. City Cafe was directly attached to the theaters.

I'll bet a dollar that 54 Wine Bar & Bistro will close off the internal access door to the mall.

Went to a movie this weekend and realized I'd gotten those spaces mixed up.
