Jucy's BBQ.

by Doogy R » Sat Mar 17, 2007 8:19 pm

After the U of L loss, I needed some medication, so I drove out to Peewee Valley for some Jucy's. I got the #1 combo, which included several slices of pork tenderloin and beef brisket. Along with that came 2 sides and I chose the green beans and mac and cheese. I'll say this, 3 out of 4 ain't bad. The brisket, as expected, was out of this world. So melt on my tongue tender and well smoked that it makes me feel like I want to die with this meat in my mouth. The tenderloin was great as well, just not beef brisket. The green beans were above average but the mac and cheese, well, a boxed edition would've been better. Overall, I give 3.5 stars for this visit. Well done, Jucy's. By the way, the young ladies behind the counter were very friendly indeed.

I agree on the mac n' cheese, but Jucy's is my favorite Q spot these days. That brisket is awesome! Sorry about the Cards, Doogie. :(

Jucy's - YUMMY! I have never had a bad experience. I believe they are closed on Sunday, else I would be swimming in Q tomorrow.

PS: My bracket is sitting pretty--sorry 'bout the Cards, Doogy.

Doogy: I have not had the chance, but since you place that pic you have sealed the deal on breakfast today---as soon as my son gets ready we are SO there.

Natalie, I hope you were able to enjoy it today. I normally go to North End every Sunday for brunch, but was unable to today. I like everything on their menu but do have a few faves. Two of my other breakfast faves are the Migas and the steak and eggs. On the lunch part of the menu, the chicken and dumplings is fantastic.

Cooking with beer RAWKS!

I have a pot of beans cooking right now made with a smoked beer:
Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock

The smoked beer lends a sweet, smoky, ham-like flavor.

You know it's good eats when the Q comes straight out the trailer---and a visible smoker? No gas grills here, my friend!
