I, too have never eaten one, and unlike Kevin, after putting that down in black white feel no pressure to rectify the situation!!!!

There are things in there that you can't un-see.

It's sort of like a piece I did some time back about White Castle chicken "rings," but worse.

I used to eat McRibs all the time and it was sort of a joke because I would eat like four of them. That was a while ago (high school was 20 years ago??) and I haven't had one since. But his description of "spongey" meat is right on and has officially turned me off. Meat is not supposed to be spongey. Bleech!

So, it sounds like the McRib qualifies as molecular gastronomy then.

Which is why I have never eaten one and dont eat fast food. And why I wish this country was more like Europe in terms of food safety.

McD's has them year round here in Germany and apparently they're quite popular. I've never had one and the lack of yoga mat juice in the European model still ain't gonna convince me to try.

I just noticed that Google Ads delivered a Mickey D's McRib banner ad while I was viewing this page!

I have never tried a McRib until last year when my husband brought one home for me to try. I took one bite and ended up throwing it away. Never ever again will I eat a McRib. It was the nastiest thing I have ever eaten, I don't see how people can eat those.

Ditto, Amy. I tried one years ago. Took one bite and threw it away. Frankly, I'd rather eat Spam smeared with bad BBQ sauce.

After some googling it appears that the chemical azodicarbonamide, while being used in shoe soles and yoga mats, which might lead one to conclude its used in holding the gelatinous McRib meat patty together, is actually found in the bun.
So in Europe they must be sourcing the buns from a different location. So they can still sell the sandwich.
