“A Taste of Love” Valentine's dinner at Varanese

Varanese plans a Valentine's Day menu of appetizers, entrees, and desserts featuring ingredients traditionally thought of as aphrodisiac ingredients.

The Taste of Love menu will be available from Wednesday, Feb. 13, through Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14, to Saturday, Feb. 16, during the restaurant’s dinner hours, 5-11 p.m. week nights, 5 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday. Reservations are recommended and can be made at 899-9904 or letsdine@varanese.com.

Owner and Chef John Varanese’s special menu includes:

Jumbo Fried Oysters with Mustard Remoulade and Chipotle Cocktail Sauce

This Valentine’s Day, the AAA-Four Diamond English Grill has planned two nights of romantic dinners to reignite the flame with your special someone at the Brown Hotel. Chef Laurent Géroli has created an exquisite four-course menu available on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14, and the following Saturday, Feb. 16. The intimate four-course dinner, which includes a champagne toast, is $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. The menu includes:

Soup
Shrimp Bisque with caviar and micro chervil

Appetizer
Chive and Currant Blini with champagne poached lobster and tarragon gastrique

Several locations of the Bristol Bar and Grille will celebrate Valentine’s Day with special menus during dinner service on Thursday, Feb. 14. Guests can visit their favorite location to enjoy the specials, or order from the regular menu of classic favorites like Green Chili Wontons, Theresa’s Sweet Chili Linguine and Pork Dijonnaise. Valentine’s Day details for the Jeffersonville, East and Highlands locations are listed below, and customers can visit www.bristolbarandgrille.com for information on menus and specials at other Bristol restaurants.

The Bristol Jeffersonville:
Chef Richard Doering will offer Valentine menu specials from Thursday, Feb. 14 through Saturday, Feb. 16. Wine pairings selected by Master Sommelier Scott Harper will also be available. At Proof on Main, Executive Chef Levon Wallace plans a 3-course Valentine's menu, featuring dishes such as Cauliflower and Celeriac Soup with crispy oysters, preserved lemon and dill; Beet Bolognese with chive pappardelle, winter truffle and crema; and Lobster Risotto with salsify, black radish and baby mustard greens. The dessert is a shared, large slice of Crimson Beet Cake with dark chocolate and gelato affogatto. The dinner is $65. Call 217-6360 for reservations.
