Bars to watch the playoffs with "Your" fans

by Melissa Richards-Person » Sat Jan 12, 2013 2:07 pm

Far as I can tell, this hasn't been a topic since 2009, so here goes! There are now 8 teams remaining in the race to the Super Bowl in Nola: Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, Green Bay, Houston, New England, San Francisco and Seattle. Won't say who of that bunch I'm pulling for, but I'd love to be watching this weekend with fans of the same team. Any idea which bars the Louisville-based fans of these teams gather to watch games? Probably handy knowledge for next week as well....

Hi Melissa,
While we usually watch the Patriots games at BW3s or at home, I hear that there is a Patriots fan club which meets at Old Chicago - Stonybrook.

Melissa,

The Green Bay crowd is at Saints in St. Matthews. They have the "Lambeau Loft."

Mary and I were married in Seattle, so it has a very fond place in my heart. That's as good a reason as any to root for the Sea Hawks!

Browns fans, what there are left of them...congregate at The New Direction on Chamberlin. Regrettably the "sleeze factor" has risen to the point where you'll have to share the bar with the -whole- trailer park.

Whatever. It's Seattle!

I've been opposed to cramming two different words together into a sports moniker ever since that awful period when Louisville's AAA baseball team was briefly the "Riverbats."

She was asking about playoff teams Steve
It was a shame we didn't get together for our annual viewing of the Steelers vs. Browns.
The lads from Pittsburgh were so beat up and Big Ben got so confused as to what receivers were on his team, that the Browns actually beat us this year!

Get used to it Dano...Now that we've got a good ol' Ohio born and raised coach who comes from good Polish stock as a head coach it's gonna be happening on a -much- more regular basis.

And I missed the opportunity to wear my Seahawks sweater proudly at Coals on Sunday :( But, Madeline, if you can confirm that you're "on" as Seahawks central next season (when we're pre-season #1 in the West :P ) I'll be there! (Robin & Steve - you're welcome too.....)

And as a member of the Central Florida Packer Backers, I'm glad to know about Saints as well! Maybe around July/August I'll revisit this topic again and we can generate a more comprehensive list for LHB!

Oh, and I suppose if you're a Falcons, Patriots, Niners or Ravens fan, you may still want to post places to watch the AFC & NFC championships this Sunday.....
