Need a new hairdresser

by Marsha L. » Mon Jan 09, 2012 6:24 pm

PLEASE give me some recommendations. I am tired of and over my current salon. I have been trying to get in with Tim Buckles at Colors on Baxter for years, but they won't call me back. I guess if you have a certain amount of business you don't need to return messages. Is there any fabulous colorist/stylist out there who wants new business? I'm SO desperate.

Mary really loves Jenny at Icons, which recently moved from Baxter out to Frankfort Avenue near Cannons Lane. I don't know if that's an issue for you. Mary doesn't color ... yet ... ;) ... but she's finicky, and she likes the way that Jenny understands her hair and pays attention to style.

GO to Jessica at Twisted!!! She really is excellent and would do great things with your hair. Other people on the Forum go to her and I have gone to her for over 2 years. Very good.....

Jerry Heston. He is swamped but great. And he introduced me to my lovely bride, so he's always my first recommendation.

Gary, I want to say thanks. I was intrigued by their Facebook page, so I decided to give it a go. Tiffany did a fantastic job and I finally got the exact color I've been asking for all these years.

The shop is microscopically tiny, only two chairs. I wasn't offered a half a glass of cheap red wine (which is just fine with me); nor did they attempt to sell me products or processes that I didn't need. As a result I got out of there for $65 less than my previous salon, even after a generous tip.

Warning: make an appointment if you go - they have a constant stream of walk-ins, because it's also the neighborhood barber shop!
