I need a carpenter for crown molding, hanging doors, wainscot, etc. I'm not interested in who's the cheapest but who does quality work in a timely fashion. I'd appreciate any referrals.

Mark - I'm traveling but when I get back I'll send a couple of names along. I just had a lot of trim work done, and previously had a library built and custom shelving done by a really fine carpenter. Two guys, both fine, but I don't have details with me.

Great - I want to panel my library and update some trim work. Thanks

I'm pretty sure Mary knows a serious German craftsman in our neighborhood who's said to be expensive but worth it and sounds like what you're looking for.

Also, I've heard that a guy named Peyton Hoge, either son or grandson of a late mayor of Anchorage with the same name, does excellent work, and lives in Crescent Hill somewhere. Ought to be listed.

Yeah, here's Peyton Hoge's Website. I think he might be your man, unless he's limited to making purpose-built pieces rather than general carpentry ... hard to be sure from the Website.

That's one of the two I have in mind - just don't have his contact info here. He lives on South Bayly.

Yeah, Mary and his wife are Crescent Hill Garden Club buddies. I'll find out and let you know this afternoon.

I know Kevin and he's done quite a bit of work for me and he's great. He's been too tied up to take on my project.
