State Fair parking

by Gordon M Lowe » Sun Aug 21, 2011 9:45 am

This is just a little tip about parking at the State Fair. I have found that entering via Gate 4 on Crittenden, next to the Cardinal Café, and using the immediate lot on the left, as soon as you get past the ticket gate, makes for a relatively stress free parking experience. ~It's an easy in and out. The only issue this year is with the water main road closure at the Eastern Pkwy/Crittenden intersection. If you're coming from Germantown, you'll need to find another way to get to Crittenden rather than Eastern Parkway.

Off of Eastern:

Left onto Ellsworth (first street past the shelby/preston double intersection)
Right onto Harrison
Left onto Bradley
Right onto Maylawn
Left onto Crittenden

You can actually turn left onto Bradley at the light (Dairy Kastle location), but it backs up due to the detour. I've found Ellsworth faster when I've been returning home from the east.

And while Ellsworth goes through to Maylawn, it's awfully narrow and not recommended.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
