I know that throwing out Intel model numbers doesn't mean much to the average consumer, so sometimes benchmark tests can help give you some perspective on relative performance. Here is a chart from cpubenchmark.net that shows the processor that's in the Apple (i5-2500S) vs. the processor that's in the first Dell (i7-2600) that I listed:

The i7-2600 is ranked as the 18th best high end processor available, while the i5-2500S is ranked 83rd.

Looks like a good buy, Jeffrey. I've done it, though. I'm a Mac fanboy now. iMac with the 22 inch screen, 1 terabyte HD, and RAM expanded to 8 gigs. It's more than the Costco PC, but it has the look and feel of quality, and I'm happy.

I've been a Mac fanboy for years. But... I'm currently looking at building my own "Hackintosh"... a PC that runs Mac OSX. Less than half the price of the comparable apple hardware, and expandable. NOT an easy process, though.
