Help finding someone work - entry level-ish

by Bret Donaldson » Wed Jul 15, 2009 12:46 pm

I had to lay off a 6-year loyal employee yesterday, and would like to help her find a new position. She is a good employee, missed only 3 or 4 days in her 6 years, works hard, and is on time.

She is not the most skilled cook, but would work well in a prep capacity in a nursing home, hospital, school, or similar environment. Low-volume pantry would be OK (I mean LOW-volume - a la carte is not her strength).

She's a great person, and can handle any basic prep tasks: portioning, knive skills, slicing meats, cutting vegetables, etc.

If anyone has any leads on a position similar to this, please let me know. Laying her off was probably the hardest thing I have had to do professionally, and I'd like to help her out if I can.

Thanks.
