Any must eats you can recommend?

I'll have 1 meal in Morgantown, WV and 3 days worth in D.C.

I haven't been to DC in years, but a quick search shows a few gastropubs that look cool.

Granville Moore's

Commonwealth's - The People's Gastropub

EatBar

Also, here's Young and Hungry's list of the 50 best in DC. Lots of ethnic options there. Young & Hungry's 50 Best

Morgantown, WV? Have not lived there for 30 years - whew, that long? - but Maxwell's is still there and the last time I visited still great! http://eatatmaxwells.com/ they are actually in an alley and started as a hippie place, still great food and a laid back atmosphere. The pizza place I would have recommended is gone - I was the manager and still use the recipes. :)

Sadly the Les Halles in D.C. has ended it's lease and closed. Always enjoyed their food. As a consolation you could try Cafe du Parc, adjacent to the Willard Continental, for your Bistro fix.

The last two times I was there I missed my chance to try Bens Chili Bowl. I have heard alot about this place and their famous "half smoke".
Ben's Chili Bowl

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Trip report:

Smokey Valley Truck Stop (DDD)Not worth it. DDD talks up the coconut cream pie, but it was far from special.

Hillbilly Hotdogs
http://www.hillbillyhotdogs.com

Worth the detour from the interstate. The “junk yard” dog was excellent and the place is a great photo opp.

Black Bear Burritos (Morgantown)http://www.blackbearburritos.com/

College bar. Live music, good beer, crazy burritos.

Ben’s Chili Bowlwww.benschilibowl.com

The half smoke was awesome and the atmosphere in the place is unmatched. Kind of like the movie barbershop, but in a restaurant.

La Tasca
http://www.latascausa.com/site/

Excellent. Right up there with Mojito.

Good Stuff Eatery
http://www.goodstuffeatery.com/

Excellent burgers and rosemary, thyme fries. Owned by Spike from Top Chef.

Circa @ Dupont
http://www.circacafes.com/

Casual upscale. Good cocktail list, solid pizza and Italian dishes.

The Black Squirrel Bar
http://www.blacksquirreldc.com/

Awesome beer list, across from Julia’s Empanadas.

Julia's Empanadas
http://juliasempanadas.com/

Excellent midnight snack

Wegmans Grocery
http://www.wegmans.com/

Best grocery store I have even been in. Whole Halibut and Snapper, Wagyu beef.

Maine Avenue Fish Market

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_Avenue_Fish_Market

Open air fish market with seafood cooked on the spot. Must see.
