Just got back from Vegas this morning, and we took two advisements from this thread.

1. Lotus of Siam--everything Robin has said about this place is true, and more. It was by far the standout meal of our trip. It is out of the way--2 or 3 miles off the strip and in a strip-mall, but it's worth the venture. The food was amazing and the service fantastic. Reservations are somewhat difficult to get, and the inside sort of feels like your average dine-in Chinese joint. This is all quickly forgotten. The prices are very good too, as is the wine list (though I have never seen so many German Riesling offerings in one spot - pages and pages). If you go to Vegas, EAT HERE. The crispy duck with the red curry/Cognac cream sauce might have crept it's way into my list of the 5 best things I've ever eaten. It's that good, and you'll likely agree that the James Beard award, Robb Report writeups, and the like on this place are all well deserved.

2. Battista's Hole in the Wall--we ate here because it was walking distance to our hotel. It' was okay--the food was mediocre, the bread very good, and the prices reasonable, espeically considering all entrees come with free house wine. The wine wasn't very good, but if you're looking for a place to get some carbs and a cheap buzz before a long Vegas night, this isn't a terrible place to go. It's a little touristy as well, with T-shirts and other gear you can buy with their name on it.

I saw no accordionist while we were there--that would have been fun in our slightly inebriated state.

I returned from Las Vegas on Sunday; with no desire to see a large meal for at least one week. My brother and I stayed at The Monte Carlo Casino and had the opportunity to eat at several different places. Some of the highlights were Brand Steakhouse in Monte Carlo and Pampas Brazilian Grille.

BTW, drinking more than two Caipirinha in one meal is dangerous.

I'm planning a Las Vegas trip and gathered most of the restaurant suggestions from previous threads and made a map of them here.

Unfortunately, the Rosewood Grille that everyone seemed to like is now closed.

I'm glad you liked it Gayle!

I make maps for myself like this all the time and always share them when they might be useful to others.

Okay, I'm back.

I'm pleased to confirm the goodness of Rosemary's and Lotus of Siam. These should be on everyone's list when in Las Vegas.

We also liked the small plates place called Firefly on Paradise. The food is good and the selections are above average. If you are into drinking they have a daily happy hour from 3-6PM with half price drinks. This alone made stopping in a few times worth it to us.

We also found an upscale Mexican place that is good, with good Margaritas as a bonus. It's called Agave Restaurant.
