Long weekend trip over Labor Day. Indoor mask mandate everywhere, most fine dining spots are requiring proof of vaccination.

The stand outs.

https://cranes-dc.com/ - fantastic one Michelin star lunch - Spanish/Japanese

https://www.oyamel.com/ - Jose Andres Mexican. Tasting menu was great, just too much food

http://www.gravitasdc.com/ - https://www.conservatorydc.com/ - sit upstairs in the conservatory. The food comes out of the Gravitas Michelin kitchen, but it's a relaxed atmosphere with a cheaper tasting menu or à la carte menu

https://www.moonrabbitdc.com/ - fantastic modern Vietnamese

http://jackrosediningsaloon.com/ - 2,687 bottles of whiskey by the pour

https://unionmarketdc.com/ - nice redeveloped industrial area full of bars, restaurants, shops
"The idea is to eat well and not die from it-for the simple reason that that would be the end of your eating." - Jim Harrison
