Pho Paris to become Chalk Food + Wine
BY STEPFANIE ROMINE

COVINGTON - One year after Pho Paris left Oakley for here, the French-Vietnamese fusion restaurant will close again, to reopen as Chalk Food + Wine on Jan. 15.

Pho Paris, which is owned by Jean-Robert deCavel and Annette Pfund deCavel and Marilyn and Martin Wade, will close after New Year's Eve, deCavel said Friday.

Expect "something comfortable and approachable" that jibes well with the neighborhood, he said.

The name reflects the updated French bistro's focus on daily specials - written on a chalkboard, as traditional French restaurants do - and fresh, made-from-scratch products.

good catch. I should've posted that when I read it. The new place sounds like it will be a better fit for the neighborhood. The problem with Pho Paris is that it was just a little too expensive, so people started to view it as a special occassion restaurant, and business just fell off.

Chalk Food + Wine should do well.

Now, there is no fusion cuisine in NKY/Cincinnati area. Paging Basa or Asiatique . . .
