Prairie recommendations

Need some recommendations for lunch & dinner spots in the prairie territory comprising Morris, MN, Omaha, NB, and Vermillion, SD. Throw in the fine folks of Sioux City, Iowa for good measure!

Okay, I have to ask. Family history? Or coincidence of names.

(Sorry I don't have much to give on your actual question, Ed. I traveled extensively through that region for about a month when I was working for a national non-profit back in the early '90s, but that was about 20 years ago, and i was on a non-profit's budget. I'm pretty sure I went to a steak house in Omaha and also went to a brew pub there, but that's all I've got.

Only related to our family hair color! My mom, dad, sister and I are all red heads. Vermillion was founded in 1859 and incorporated in 1873. The name refers to the Lakota name: wa sa wak pa'la (red stream). The water turns red from the Vermilion colored clay that lines the riverbanks.

Highly recommend when you find yourself hungry for outstanding Vietnamese food in Sioux Falls, S.D.

BBQ opinions are like...well, you know, we all have one...lol
I have a good friend in Omaha who swears by Hartland BBQ because of their dry rub ribs (if that's your thing) and their brisket.
