I've never been, but heard good things.

They also serve brain if you are into that kind of thing.

My husband is there frequently. He loves the Haub House. Traditional, but very nice.

A little more than 15 years ago, I attended the University of Evansville for a few summer courses, and I ate at a really good nearby pizza place called The Slice (2011 Lincoln Ave.), They had a delicious eggplant pizza! Of course, this was before Boombozz spoiled all of us, but poking around on the internet, it appears still in business and a viable option!

I wish I'd gotten to try more places! Unfortunately, my roommate was a picky eater and said she'd just stay home and not eat unless we went to Subway (she was blind and emotionally needy- bur that's another story). I literally didn't eat at Subway for another 4 years. Of course, that was before they added things like sweet onion chicken on honey oat bread.

After searching various on-line sites such as Urbanspoon and Yelp, these restaurants are hard to find. I am so happy to be able to tap into this hot byte community for advice. Thanks you all. I will check out the suggestions.

I spend a few weeks in Evansville each year for work. By far the best is Madeleines (http://madeleinesfusion.com/). It's really good, and could compete with some of the better restaurants in Louisville.

Other options: Eclipse is a nice Spanish tapas place (http://www.eclipsetapas.com/), Angelo's is supposed to be decent for Italian, and KanPai is supposed to be very good for sushi (http://www.mykanpai.com/).

Cavanaugh's, the steakhouse at the casino, is also pretty good, with nice views overlooking the river, though it can get pricey. (http://www.tropevansville.com/sites/cas ... r_Menu.pdf)

Hit up Blush, the bar at Le Merigot, for a drink.

Hornville Tarvern is one of those hole in the wall bars that serves pretty decent food.

Mark was craving German food so we ended up here:

Gorgeous old building and pretty decent German food with beer on draft. We really enjoyed the experience.
