Independent Dining in Exotic Southern IN

by Peg O'Neill » Tue Jul 02, 2013 10:15 am

I'll be in Western Kentucky for a wedding and my partner and I are taking little side trips to Hoosier National Forest and the caves on the way back to Louisville. We'll be staying in Tell City, IN (neighboring small towns are Cannelton, IN and Hawesville, KY) one night and Corydon one night. Partner is vegetarian, I'm quasi-keto in what I eat, but I am sure I would find an easier time than he would. Any restaurant suggestions that aren't generic local Mexican place, fast food, or Applebee's???

Peg,

In Corydon, Emery's Ice Cream is a great old-time ice cream place. We also ate at Capitol City/ Green Door, but haven't been there in several years-not since the new ownership/brouhaha ( See earlier post from Alison Hanover).

We ate somewhere in Tell City, but sorry I can't remember.
