NKY/Cincinnati restaurant recommendations

by Ryan G. » Thu Oct 27, 2011 2:27 pm

Hello,
I’m going to be in NKY tomorrow (Friday, October 28), and four of us are looking for a place to have a non-chain dinner. Would anyone be able to recommend restaurants in NKY or Cincinnati proper that have similar price points and respect within the food community as places in Louisville like Baxter Station, Café Lou Lou, Havana Rumba, and North End Café?

York St. Cafe in Newport.

I haven't personally dined here but I have heard good things. My experience with dining in the area is mostly ethnic food in the suburbs. There is some amazing Japanese cuisine in Erlanger and Florence if you are a fan.

Also, Riverside Korean in Covington is excellent. It is small and has traditional floor seating. I would recommend getting there early if you want to sit in a Western style booth.

If you are willing to go into the suburbs north of Cincinnati, Fairfield has great no-frills Mexican. Not even a mile from the place is a GREAT Peruvian restaurant called Sabor Peruano.
