This is a long shot, but we're spending a week in Tamarindo (Guanacaste Province), Costa Rica this summer. Any recommendations?

None specific, but we spent a week in Costa Rica in 1990 (a short time in San Jose, then drove over to the Pacific Coast and played around from Playa del Jaco to Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio), and it was wonderful. Friendly people, safe environment, and - at least at the time - it was one of the only two countries south of the Rio where it's safe to drink the water. The other is supposedly Uruguay.

Brad, Matthew Landan of Derby City Espresso doesn't post here much anymore, but he's spent some extended time in Costa Rica - you might try contacting him with a PM or a message through Facebook.
