To add: Any kind of acid should do the trick.
Most restaurants (quick service in particular) use this technique to clean their flat-top griddles at the end of the night.
Put the pan back on the burner and get is very hot.
Add vinegar (or lemon juice or whatever), and let is cook.
Stir is around, while scraping at the scorched spots.
Then boil again with water.
After all the scorch is gone, just was like you normally would with soap.
I should note though, you're going to want to seriously ventilate your kitchen.
I recommended lemon juice because it doesn't smell as pungent as vinegar and won't make your sinus's burn near as bad.
No fresh squeeze needed, just get a big bottle of the reconstituted stuff at the grocery store.
