We are blessed to have more cabinet space than we really need in our kitchen; So on top of our fridge we have..Drumroll please!

A lot of dust, one of those mini shopping carts they used to sell at Target that Colleen and I got as a wedding present many moons ago, and nothing else!

I do keep my wooden pizza peel behind the fridge for an honorable mention!

However, don't even ask about the three "junk" drawers we have, or even worse, the two drawers full of "useful" kitchen gadgets my wife has felt compelled to buy at every Pampered Chef party she attends!

Sorry, Dan, but there ain't no such thing! You just haven't lived there long enough to fill up all the cabinets. Give it time.

Our fridge top is not too bad. We have one giant box of commercial size foil, one empty 3lt olive oil tin and a sleepy cat.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

One basket filled with cat toys that cannot be left on the floor because Sheeba doesn't know how to respect her person's bedtime.

One vase filled with aqua & light blue marbles.

One wall plaque that says "Love one another deeply from the heart".

One plastic ice bucket.

One light green watering container for plants.

And for the moment, a light covering of dust that will be gone as soon as I post this note!

Y'all are impossible. And I mean that in the best way.

I sort of envy Gary that he can ignore clutter and just work without the distraction of it; on the other hand it's the fact that he can ignore the clutter altogether that I find irksome in the extreme. Thankfully, after, what,... 12 years of marriage, I've managed to teach him not to clutter up what I consider to be my space, which is pretty much 90% of the house. It took 11 years to teach him, but wow, a rousing success. It's his fault. He wanted the basement. Somehow, he managed to co-opt the laundry room too.

Would have been there with you Stephen, but that's the beauty of built-ins- no more dust up there (don't ask me about under the frig though... )

Okay directly above my frig are the paper grocery bags I've crammed into the space ( about 3/4 inch ) between the frig and the buiit-in.

In my cabinet ( which has a rolling shelf on the bottom- which is really handy) is the following:

My Cuisanart Ice Cream maker
Bread Maker
My wok- circa 1980's
Air Popcorn popper, and microwave popcorn packages ( no, I have no loose popcorn to put in the popcorn maker).
Old large Tupperware containers with no lids ( why are they always going missing like socks in the dryer?)
Krups meat slicer that I received as a Xmas present maybe 15 years ago, and have used 3-4 times ( too much of a pain to clean).

We got some new shelves and just did a big clean-out a few months ago. All that currently resides up there is a partial 12-pack of Tangerine Diet Rite (gross) and a beer mug full of odds and ends such as a grill lighter, an ink pen, and maybe some magnets or change or something. Had this topic come about BEFORE our great purge, I would have been too scared to even peek up there.

old junk mail, $20 bill "woohoo", a lamentated copy of my hummus recipe in the courier I got from my time at the monkey wrench many moons ago the best was a picture of me and my gal on one of our first dates. Great topic, need to be reminded more often.

My vitamins, the Tums bottle (hubby and son have foods that give them heartburn), my Tupperware straws (for the large container of tea I take to work), a flashlight, a tube of Neosporin, my kitchen scale, a couple of travel mugs that have pictures of the grandkids on them, and my Pampered Chef (hey, it really IS usefull!) spray bottle with olive oil in it.

Now if we start talking what is ON the fridge, you would have our family magnet collection. We have them from places we have visited, pictures of the family, weights and measures tables and some that hold up the latest recipes.

It used to be really bad, but we got rid of the junk, put in more shelving and have attempted to make the top of the fridge more "functional" than a mess collector.

I will say that I probably have a handful of items that very few (f any) of you have laying around their kitchen.

On top:

-Microwave
-Blender
-Crock Pot
-Jar full of (fake) decorative apples
-3 Empty growlers
-Marble rolling pin
-2 Glass 13"x9" casseroles

packed into the casseroles in little storage containers, a few ounces of the following:
-2 Sharpies
-Ras el Hanout (ground)
-Nutmeg (whole)
-Bourbon barrel smoked salt
-Calcium Chloride
-Calcium Lactate
-Calcium Gluconate
-Sodium Citrate
-Sodium Alginate
-Citric Acid
-Ultratex 8 (1#)

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

A jar holding pens/pencils that gets used almost every day.
Seriously, that's it.
