Jasmine Rice

Okay, what am I doing wrong? Every time I make jasmine rice in my steamer, it comes out sticky and mushy. I add the exact amount of rice/water and follow the cook time. Is there something I need to adjust? Thanks!

Try rinsing the rice to get some of the extra starch off of it. That may help.

What proportion of rice to water are you using, DeeDee? There's room for a lot of variation, but the results vary: More water, more sticky. If you're using less than 3 parts water to 2 parts rice (1 1/2 cups water to 1 cup rice, for instance), try reducing the amount of water.

I think it must be the water then. I'm going to reduce it and see what happens. Rice is a tricky thing!
