Fiddlehead Ferns

Does anyone know which (if any) of the groceries in town carry fiddlehead ferns? Whole Foods stores in New Englad do, but haven't experienced a fiddlehead season in KY yet.
What about local chefs working with fiddleheads?

I was out in the woods last week or so and have not seen any fiddleheads yet. This cold snap that is coming will slow them down too. I think it is usually around the end of April that they come in around here.

I generally get them for Derby. I buy mine at Creation Gardens.

I've rarely, maybe never, seen fiddleheads on a menu in Louisville, although it sounds like something that wouldn't surprise me at Limestone or Lilly's. I think of it, maybe wrongly, as more of a northern ingredient.

My first place to look for fresh product would absolutely be Creation Gardens.

We purchased them from Chef's Garden in Ohio. Creation's should have them in two weeks. Our grower will have them in two weeks also if Creations has a limited supply. PM for details...
Also ramps are in season.

Ramps and fiddleheads are just now in the markets up here in the NY/NJ area as of this morning and can also tell you that the Morels are now springing up this week down by y'all.

Warm regards to all in Lou!

I saw some at whole foods around March-ish. They probably still have them but arent they an early spring plant? At least you know they carry them though.
