dill chips on saltines
shredded carrot in a glass of OJ and then eat with a spoon
shredded carrot on a PB sandwich

When I was real young and my mom wasn't watching - sugar sandwiches. Pour sugar on a piece of bread, fold over and smash. Now, just the thought of it sends me into sugar shock.

I guess my weird eats aren't that weird...

Shredded carrot on a pb sandwich sounds yummy!

As a child of the 80's, after reading "Pour sugar....." I suddenly had "Pour Some Sugar on Me" running through my head! :lol:

as a kid i somehow got the idea that a peanut butter sandwich would taste better with dill pickle chips and 'real' bacon bits on it (not the soy based crunchies) somehow i think i may still find this enjoyable.

peanut butter sandwiches with cinnamon sugar.
corn flakes with orange juice (i've been lactose intolerant since i was a baby, and this was the only way i'd eat cereal 'wet') to this day... i can only eat cereal dry now.

miracle whip and alfalfa sprout sandwiches

consulting with one of my younger brothers about the topic:
they always talked about how Elvis liked his hot dogs - deep fried.
they loved them (still do apparently). i never could bring myself to it.

other 'dishes' he notes:

grilled cheese sandwiches with cinnamon sugar. (he still loves)
peanut butter and maple syrup by the spoonful.
oreos covered in cool whip.
doritos (or any other kind of chip) crumbled up on about any kind of sandwich.

he also is a big fan (still) of the PB/pickle/bacon sandwich as well.

i'm sure there's other stuff we're not thinking of.

i still love the taste of eggs with ketchup.
especially if there are some sort of hashbrown type thing involved.
maple syrup loves all things pork.

as of late at work:

mustard butterscotch on seared, cured pork belly. (i use the sauce on a dessert, but you have no idea how good this is... it's like the world's best honey-mustard sauce).
Allan Benton's bacon on anything. (tastes like you're licking the inside of a smoker).

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

I don't like American ketchup (Jamaican rules), but come meet me at a Waffle House for some eggs and hash browns. I like mine old school, as in the ring. How do you like yours? I am gonna start a new thread about this.

Ethan- I don't consider PB and Maple Syrup wierd at all, it's what I eat when I eat PB. There is no better flavor combo in my American Pantheon. Well, maybe with a little bacon...

I'm late getting here, but I can nominate a couple. Fresh figs in season smeared with mascarpone cheese, eaten straight from the fridge. Maybe that's not so weird.

In the true weird food department, though, I felt a little soft spot in my heart for old Tricky Dick Nixon when I read that he loved to snack on cottage cheese with ketchup poured over it. I don't much like ketchup, but I've always loved a snack of cottage cheese topped with Heinz Chili Sauce.

Peanut butter on Cheez-Its makes a handy snack, too ...

I've always loved ketchup on eggs, too. However, now that I try to pretend I'm "grown up", I top them with Cracker Barrel's chow chow relish instead. It still gives the sweet taste, but seems more "ok" somehow.

I go on these tangents occasionally where I'll eat some strange combo every single day for weeks, and then move onto something else. Some of my stranger combos include:

- Sour cream & onion Pringles with slices of cheddar cheese;

- bologna on multigrain bread with pickle relish and American cheese;

- bologna covered in mozzarella and nuked until cheese is melted and placed on white bread with mayo, tomato slices, and pork n' beans;

- potato sticks on peanut butter and jelly;

and the latest:

- cottage cheese with diced tomatoes and Fritoes and chili cheese dip (dip chip in chili cheese, then cottage cheese, and eat together.

My brother and I used to take globs of pb, put em in a cup, sprinkle chocolate chips in, mix, and eat.

I don't know how weird this is, but pb and honey sandwiches. I ate those a lot as a kid.

scrambled eggs topped with grape jelly - that was my Sunday breakfast with my grandmother.

my mother on the other hand would fix me scrambled eggs topped with thin pieces of nori or eggs poached in wine.

to this day i still enjoy all of these breakfast variations.

My close friend is Korean, and always complains about sweet American breakfast food.

So, in the spirit of invention, we started adding hot sauce and soy sauce or fish sauce, plus leftover vegetables or hot peppers or green onions if we had any around, to hot breakfast cereals like grits and oatmeal.

All I can say is that everyoen should try it, and now my children are growing up thinking it's the normal way to eat grits and oatmeal.

My mom LOVES french toast with ketchup....

But then I will eat a bowl full of croutons and blue cheese dressing and think nothing of it....

I also like tuna fish out of the can with ranch dressing on Ritz....

Yep; It sounds gross, but to me it is YUM-MO!!

As a child, I always ate cottage cheese mixed with apple sauce instead of salad at dinner. I wasn't one of those kids that didn't like my food to touch. As a matter of fact, I liked to dip my macaroni and cheese in the apple sauce. I'd still do that if either of those were on my diet. I also like saltines with lots of margerine or butter especially with chili.

I'm so picky that I don't have a lot of weird stuff to work with.
