Greyt deal on fresh turkeys at Meijer ($0.49/lb)

by Lois Mauk » Fri Nov 28, 2014 3:01 pm

Meijer has FRESH turkeys for $0.49 a pound (75% off the ticket price of $1.96 a pound)!!!!! (Friday, 11/28/2014).

If you’ve got some room in your freezer (or you can do like me and pressure can the meat and make stock from the bones), you need to run over to Meijer today to grab one or two of these birds. I’ve got an 18-pounder in my roaster oven right now. After it cooks, I’ll cut away the bulk of the meat and put that carcass and the one from yesterday back in the roaster oven. They’ll cook for 24 hours to make awesome stock. Sunday, I’ll can the meat and the stock.

Enjoy!

Canned 6 quarts of turkey and 7-1/2 quarts of bone broth! Very pleased with the outcome.
