We used to carry the Vermont butters but they didn't really sell for us. That stuff is awesome. They sell it in the Murray's counters at Kroger now.
There is a brand of butter from Parma Italy made from the same cows that they milk for making Parmeggiano Reggiano that is really, really good. We actually have the butter by the same brand at the Wine Market (which I don't recall...Sorry!) that is made from Buffalo milk, which is also quite good. Their "regular" butter is available at Valu Market.
I really ought to know the difference, but I think aside from the obvious one (mass-produced versus, smaller, more artisanal production) the difference is sweet cream versus cultured butter.
