Suet

by RonnieD » Fri Oct 12, 2012 10:13 am

I'm working my way through a cookbook and the next recipe is for Spotted Dick (I know, I love it!), but the dough requires suet. Needless to say this is the first time I have ever had use for suet, so I have no idea where to source it. Is there a specialty pastry shop or something that sources it locally?

If not is there an equivalent?

Thanks in advance (Feeder Supply jokes please file to the left)

Ronnie,
Assuming your recipe means beef suet, I'd check with one of the local butchers(like Butchers best, or Kingsleys). If they don't stick it, they can likely order some for you.

Congrats on the baby!

FOUND! Kingsley's Meats has beef suet! And it's reasonably priced no less!

Thanks Deb!
