Looking for a local source for organic eggs not free range, for there is a big difference.

Neil, check the Valu Market (at least the one in Mid-City Mall). I'm pretty sure I've seen organic eggs there. Also look at Rainbow Blossom and Whole Foods.

Personally, I like Chelsey's eggs, available at Whole Foods, Paul's and a few other places around town. They're "pastured," which I take to mean free-range; the box say nothing about organic, but I like them because they're local (Pleasureville, Ky.), and because it's the only egg producer I know of that puts an open date on every box so you can pick the freshest available.

I have a former co-worker who raises chickens in her Cresent Hill abode.
She would bring eggs in for me from time to time and the difference in those eggs and the run of the mill store bought egg was HUGE...

It seems that "Urban Chicken Farming" is a hot new trend...

I've seen organic eggs at Costco.

I should of been more specific. I wish to buy them wholesale and to have them delivered. Hoping to find a local farmer. The great people at Valu Market go to great lengths to accomadate us with our needs for no distributor has them.

Dear Neil:

I suggest contacting the County Extension Office at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Charlestown to ask them about locally available organic eggs. I would think the Extension Agent would have excellent clues about such things.
