Buying Duck locally?

by Marsha White » Thu Nov 08, 2007 8:40 am

A friend of mine was hoping to pick up some fresh duck breast for an Alton Brown recipe he's been dying to try, but we've no idea where to buy it around town. Any suggestions?

Marsha, Whole Foods almost always has duck. Burger's will usually have frozen duck breasts. Kroger usually has frozen ducks, especially around the holidays.

For boneless duck breasts, though, Burger's is probably the most reliable source. Do you know where it is? Small, upscale neighborhood grocery in the Cherokee Triangle, on Ray at Grinstead, right opposite Collegiate School and across from Cave Hill Cemetery.

Thanks, Robin! Burger's is not far from where I live. I'll let my buddy know!

I also noticed some duck parts (and whole ducks) in a little freezer compartment at Doll's yesterday, but Burger's is probably closer to you.
