How-to @ LFPL

by Ken B » Tue May 08, 2012 11:01 pm

I will be at work and unable to attend this event, but the forum's own Dan THomas is hosting one of the how-to workshops at the Library this weekend. I think this thing is an awesome idea, and even if you don't go to Dan's presentation, there's lots there that ought to be of interest to forumites:

I can't imagine the effort that went into organizing so many events taking place simultaneously. Wish we could take part in a few of them.

That's really cool! Though I did get a good laugh on the "How to tie one on" class title.

Would love to know some of the recipes Dan is going to share! I finally got the go ahead to cook fish once a week and I honestly have no clue how. Made salmon a few times on my own, but my dad always handled cooking fish and wasn't anything I ever picked up.

Thanks for the props guys! I'm basing my class upon things that people can easliy find at any of the local supermarkets and that are afforable and easy! I'm still working up my ideas but I think I'm going to demonstrate how to prepare mussels, a dish with tilapia or basa and a salmon dish. I will have a couple of recipes on hand to pass out to the more culinary challenged. I personally haven't used a recipe in years, but I do look at them for ideas. What I'm really focusing on is the techiques you can use to prepare a couple of different fishies besides deep frying or simply baking. My session will start promply at 11:45 in the basement kitchen and I'm expecting a pretty good turn out, so you may want to arrive early to secure a prime viewing area. I hope to see many of my forumite friends there! :D

I assume my old Louisville Times pal Judy Rosenfield at the library got in touch with you about this? ;)
