Seeking Shaoxing Wine (the unsalted kind)

by Corey A » Fri Dec 23, 2011 7:52 pm

Is there any place in the area that has Shaoxing wine without salt? I can only seem to find the salted kind for cooking.

Thanks!

Update for anyone seeking the same product: Viet Hoa on Preston Hwy is the only market that had the unsalted shaoxing wine. They have cooking wine as well but you can spot the real deal by looking for the surgeon general's warning.

When you use it, Corey, I'd love to know how you think it compares with the traditional substitute, dry sherry.
