veal shanks

Any one have a suggestion where to get some quality meat for osso bucco ?

Whole Foods has had them in the past, albeit at frightening expense. I'm not aware of any of our local farmers routinely processing veal.

They have them at the Prospect Kroger's. Not sure about other locations. Sometimes they have them thawed and cut and other times they have asked for a day's notice so they can thaw the whole shanks and get them cut. I have used them a number of times for Osso Buco and found them be very good and quite reasonable. I would definitely give them a call.
