Droste Cocoa

by Sarita C » Sat Jan 29, 2011 9:00 pm

Has anyone seen this in town?

Also looking for Hershey's Unsweetened Baking Bar and Durkee's Cinnamon.

And yes...I just became a Cook's Illustrated online subscriber.;-)

Hope all is well with everyone.

Best,
Sarita

Sarita,

I don't have the Droste, but I do have a 2.5lb bag of Cacao Barry Extra Brute Cocoa powder- it's one that fine commercial bakers use. I find I use very little cocoa- mostly my recipes use melted good chocolate; I'm happy to share some with you if you are interested.

Thanks a bunch Deb! I was able to buy the last box at the Fresh Market.
Brownies were excellent.

Still looking for the unsweetened Hershey bar but used Ghirardelli instead.

Sarita

Will you post the recipe? I'm always looking for great recipes that use cocoa.

Thanks,
Deb

It's on Cook's Illustrated subscription website. Let me see if I can get it e-mailed to myself.

For the expresso powder I used 1/2 tube of Starbucks Via. The first batch I used the entire tube and I think it was a little much.
Enjoy!
