Someone asked for my baked bean recipe

by Steve P » Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:11 am

Someone...Can't recall who...was asking for my baked bean recipe last weekend. It's actually more of a concoction than a recipe but here it is.

4 cans Bush's "Steakhouse" Grilling Beans (I usually drain about half the liquid)
1 can Bush's Black Beans - Drained/Rinsed
1 can Bush's Great Northern Beans - Drained/Rinsed
2 can's "Petite" Diced Tomatoes - Drained
4 TBS BBQ Sauce
2 TBS Molasses
1 TBS Tabasco

I will usually dice and saute until soft a cup of onion and a half a cup of bell pepper and add to the beans but did not do that on this last batch.

Steve,
Thanks so much for the recipe. It was Bob who asked for it--he has been talking about them all week! They were excellent as was everything. The BBQ was beyond fabulous and all those delicious sides that you and Becky made. We were both so stuffed that I thought I would never eat again!!!

Again, thanks for a wonderful, fun evening!!!

Very upset that I missed it.

Steve-
Are these baked or non-baked "baked beans"?

Bill,

The "Grillin' Beans" are of the baked bean variety, the other beans are just your garden variety black and great northerns (rinsed). BTW, most of those "Grillin' Bean" varieties are good right out of the can...although we're not fond of the "Black Bean Fiesta" variety AT all.
