OK, LET'S GET THE BALL ROLLING

by Bill Veneman » Thu Jun 28, 2007 7:50 am

Do we want to say the second or third Tuesday (7/10 or 7/17) of July, since the First Tuesday is 7/3 and we've already determined that most if not all of us will be doing something else. And from what I'm seeing, there are no objections posted to Mojito's...........please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, time wise, in the 6 - 6:30 range?

Thoughts, suggestions?

I'm kinda flying blind here because I'd like to be able to give Fernando a bit of a heads up as to when and how many (approx number).
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

I think it sounds like fun. But as much as I'd love to try Mojitos right off the bat, it's my understanding that it's very difficult to get a table, and so I'm not so sure for the first time out it would be a great idea to have a crowd of us standing around for an hour (or more) waiting for a table.

How about a place where a reservation could be made? Especially for the first time.

I agree ... and Sandy and I would be interested in participating. I believe that Tuesday is a great idea because of the low patronage at restaurants on Tuesdays/Wednesdays.

Why not start by giving our business to one of the many restaurateurs who support this forum community with their regular participation?

I'm happy to join the group, by the way, with the caveat that I try to keep a low profile and might prefer to skip a LouisvilleHotBytes gathering at a restaurant where the proprietor hasn't figured out who I am.

What about Westport General Store? Will participates here, is a member of LO, has great space and the food is very fine. Throw in the short drive through horse country and it's a winner.

Tuesday Night Super Club

by Gayle DeM » Sun Jul 01, 2007 8:33 am

Gee, I thought Westport General Store was a done deal! I had put it on my calendar. Havana Rumba, Bistro New Albany, Baxter Station, Melillos, Cafe Lou Lou L&N, Seviche, Volare, Jack's Bar are fine, too. I figure if the group chooses a place that I have not liked, it will be the perfect time to try the place again with people who can guide me towards successful ordering.

OK, I tend to agree with Ed

by Bill Veneman » Sun Jul 01, 2007 9:23 am

Sorry I've been remiss in responding........just haven't had the chance this weekend.

Westport General Store would have the room to accomodate a "larger crowd", and it is a nice drive.......Robins' point is well taken, as well.

Gayle, I tend to agree that this is a grand opportunity to have the experts guide thru the menu for those of us who are not as "assimiliated" as others.

If Will is willing, then I say we have a plan, and then those of us who do particiapte can lay the groundwork for our next outing........

So, shall we say 7/10, 6:30 at Westport General?
