Flabby's Offline

by Paul Mick » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:36 am

Alright, so I've decided to take action and see if anyone is really interested in a trip out to Flabby's. The food is inexpensive and good, and its now the final home of the Mazzoni's rolled oyster. If you have more questions, just check out the restaurants forum thread.

I'm also definitely up for a trip to a Germantown bar afterward to somewhat offset the lack of good brews at Flabby's (in my opinion, their only shortcoming). I've never actually made it to any of the bars in Germantown, so I'll leave the location up to the experts.

Also they only serve their famous fried chicken on weekends, so that might be something to consider as well. Personally, I'm up for a Saturday afternoon/early evening trip sometime, but in general I'm flexible after the 14th.

What about everyone else?

Ok I'm in! It's in my neighborhood but I haven't taken the time to go over there lately, this would be a great reason. Not really sure on the bars around here either (though most people I know go to the Pour Haus or the Monkey Wrench), but I would say that Marsha or Jessie would probably be the experts there. :)

Really don't want to miss this one so I'm tossing in the ring either February 21 or March 7 (working every other weekend these days) for your humble consideration.

I'd like to go to this, not sure when would be a good time, though. Also, apres-dinner bar should be the Nachbar, in my opinion. It's a nice leisurely walk from Flabby's, and has the best beer selection of any bar in the area (and most of Louisville, for that matter).

I like Saturday afternoon - it's just about mandatory to go for the fried chicken.

Feb. 14, 21 and 28 don't work for Mary and me, but most of March is looking good.

March 7th sounds good to me.

Saturdays are good for me, I'm off every weekend! (with the exception of any major disasters that is, the last time I made plans a nursing home had to be evacuated, grrr....)

I'd love to attend. I couldn't pass up a chance to visit Flabbys. Oh, and I am editing this to add that Nachbar is great, and the Zeppelin is a new addition that has a decent beer selection. It is right across from Check's.

Depends upon what weapon you choose, and how much you want to hurt the other party. I have a pair of blowguns that I could loan you. As long as you wear masks and sweatpants/sweatshirts, you could achieve minimal real damage with a bit of stinging pain. That way your honor could be mollified without too much bloodshed.

Paul, I like the blowgun idea. I need to find that curare dealer's business card. *rummages around*

But there is no way I'm wearing sweatpants in public.

March 7th is doable. What is the time frame?
