Flabby's is a neighborhood bar and probably only deals with a crowd this size a couple times a year - and even then they don't all converge on the place at exactly the same time. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to have our business, but with upwards of 30 people (which may almost take up every chair and stool in the room) being served by one cook and one bartender, we should just plan on a very relaxed, very slow-paced experience.

I can't wait to see everyone! But I'm prepared to wait on the day of the event, for food and beer...see?

Just the way I like it. More time for talking and meeting new people and old friends.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Wow, I have not been paying attention! How can I not attend an offline just a few blocks from my house?! Please add me and Neil to the list. If there turns out not to be room for us, we'll just plan to see you all at the Nachbar a little later!

Just a thought. I know they have been alerted that we are coming, I wonder if maybe they could do a family style thing with fried chicken and oyster rolls instead of separate orders- it might be easier for them to cope with. Like I said it is just a thought- I have three and a half hours and a lot of shmoozing to do so slow and easy works for me too.

I think that's a brilliant idea! Or, at a minimum, we can ask for a show of hands, "How many want fried chicken," and then at least be able to give Flabby's advance notice on a quantity. But really, if everyone is willing, a fried chicken, rolled oysters and order-your-own sides spread might save Flabby's a lot of trouble and our peeps a lot of frustration.

That is a really good idea...I guess the next step would be to get a vote, propose it to Flabby's and if it goes over figure out a per person amount. I'm in for it! I'm not sure how much chicken they normally fry but this is working up to be a pretty good sized crowd.

Put us down for the fried chicken/rolled oyster. Although that limburger raw onion sandwich is really calling me, as for Anne...not so much.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

3 votes AYE for Fried Chicken/Rolled Oyster simplicity.

Thinking of the Red Pepper offline; you could ask if one price fits all helps them with such a crowd. X number of people at $ per head for dinner.

Edited to say "What Gary said"

Put John and I down for a yes for family style chicken but you don't need to count us for oysters. You can choose to pass that along or not, if it'll just complicate things.
