I have tried the rolled oyster three times over 10 years, and I think I've given it a fair chance. I'm not against oysters in general, it's just that if I'm gonna eat all that fried breading - show me the hushpuppy instead. Don't understand the appeal, sorry! You guys knock yourselves out. I'll have an extra chicken thigh.

Rodger that, I am in the same boat as Lynch.Just didnt want to complicate anything. We have tried em a few times and just dont get it. I prefer my oysters raw on the shell.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Speaking of oysters, Flabby's Austern Shoters are worth trying too. I lived the Charleston, SC for 7 years before moving here so I was scared to try them (I usually prefer the little steamed SC clusters to the big Gulf oysters), but they were very fresh and the sauce was spicy!

I will go ahead and track preferences for one item or the other (if one exists) as go along, if it's only a couple of people then I don't see much point in altering the current idea. If a more significant total comes up then I'm sure we can figure something out.

Mark Robert and I (or at least I - he never knows his schedule until the week of but I'm hoping 4:00 is early enough for him to be able to join us even if he is working) down as a vote for fried chicken and oysters. Thanks!

I don't check the offline area much - basically because I'm always too busy to make any of these.

But, a Saturday afternoon event in Germantown is too easy not to make.

And, if I'm following this correctly, I'm supposed to say "aye" for chicken. so, aye. I'll pass on the oyster.

Wow this has become so much bigger than I thought...I've been keeping track for polling but to make a condensed version for you Paul I've seen additions of Erin Riedel & Neil, Matthew D, and my "+ 1." What total does that bring us up to?
