Goodness I LOVE IT when I laugh out loud first thing in the morning - without looking in the mirror.
Marsha you really are one of those rare, right side of the brain, people that excels on many level levels.
Dr. Seuss would be proud!

Here's my rap song inspired by the BBQ and Book Drive, in the style of Dr. Seuss:

I'm the
Hip-hop-opotamus
My lyrics are bottomless
My rhymes raise the temperature
Your tracks are preposterous

Pavilion Vermillion
Crashed the cotillion
and made 'bout a million peeps want a gazillion
containers of chimichurri to slurp
And after they slurped, they started to burp

Andrea E stole the show with a trifle
She actually didn't have need of a rifle
She even made clear that Sunday was a good day
And that she was pleased not to have to use her AK

Suzi B busted her butt to feed ours
She made fabulous tea, and shrimp salad - for hours!
Robin and Mary brought the Brisket of Love
Which I admit that I wish that I had some more of

Cindy brought flowers and loaned us her guy
Who rented the club yesterday on the fly
And Carol and Bob brought some beer and some pork
while Pierce showed up late with his gold-plated fork
and some beer and some beer and some more beer, good Lord
my boyfriend brought home beer we couldn't afford!
Then Dave also brought a fat chocolate/beer cake
How much more of this nonsense does he think I can take?

Carla, I hope your cover's not blown
From witness protection, I hope you can phone
To ask for a cab to whisk you away
to join us again on some other fine day

Jessica read us a story and then
We snarfed down her 'tater casserole - WIN!
Her mom was so nice,
There was plenty of ice,
and Miles the Magnificent stole my heart. Twice!

In the spirit of Dr. Seuss, you can borrow my Cat in the Hat hat and we can get your rap on video.

And in your honor, Marsha!

Marsha rapped the rhyme o' food
missing her calling, she ain't no fool
coconut cake she make splendiferous
corn on the cob with no whiskey? preposterous!
deviled eggs they have no equal
book rodeo we need a sequel
we salute your mad rappin' skills
you wordplay gives us chills
Dr. Seuss if he was among us
would say all her talents are just humongous!

My son can shoot, edit and post for you. I want a role too, pretty please. I want to be the character in the back that doesn't say or do anything until the rhyme is done and I say to the camera; word. Yeah, that guy.

Pierce: "that guy" is called the hype man, and I think you'd be an EXCELLENT one.

Didn't know there was a title involved: Say HEY...Say HO...Now SCREAM!

Oh yeah, I'm ready.

Friends,

I spent 40+ hours setting up my classroom this week and, now, my awesome book collection is awaiting little hands. Other teachers keep coming by and mentioning that they'd like to borrow some of my books. I will be posting some pics of the books and my classroom next week sometime.

Should I start a new thread or is it okay with everyone if I continue with this one?

While going through the books, I found a page out of an address book. It's the "R-S" page. If one of you thinks that this may belong to you, PM me and I'll let you know who is written on the page.
